21c Museum Hotel Chicago marks ninth US property for brand

This month Chicago welcomed the latest 21c Museum Hotel, showcasing contemporary art to the public 24-hours a day, seven days a week, as well as offering 297 hotel rooms.

Its collection of 21st-century art and roster of cultural programming is curated by museum director and chief curator Alice Gray Stites.

The 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space at the 21c Museum Hotel Chicago is also curated with art that can be enjoyed by visitors when not booked for events.

Now part of the MGallery Hotel Collection, 21c Museum Hotels was founded in Louisville, Kentucky in 2006 by Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson.

It now has nine properties across the US, in cities such as Nashville, Oklahoma City and Kansas City, with two more planned in Iowa and Missouri.
