21c Museum Hotel Lexington hosted a ‘sober rave’ earlier this month for those who opt not to drink or are looking to party more consciously.
The hotel said that the event offered those suffering with addiction problems a way to have a good evening without the temptation of alcohol on offer in the building.
A DJ provided entertainment to guests at the sober rave who drank from a mocktail menu, while there were activities such as yoga and neck massages.
The free event suggested $10 donations, donating all offerings to an addiction treatment center.
Jennifer Davis, director of sales and marketing at 21C Museum Hotel, commented: “I think we celebrate substances so much in our society these days, and with this weekend being Super Bowl weekend, I think that’s a very difficult weekend for some of those folks.
“This is a great space for them to have something very fun to do where they don’t have to worry about that.”
