Dutch luxury hotel brand citizenM has revealed plans for a new Chicago hotel.
Chicago’s famed Magnificent Mile will be home to the new 47-storey, 159m (523ft) structure, developed by Sterling Bay on 300 North Michigan Avenue.
The hotel will be part of a mixed-use development and Sterling Bay’s designs include 280 hotel rooms, 289 residential units, 25,000 sq ft of allocated retail space, and a 22-parking-spot garage underground.
The interior design will comprise of local art and photography.
Ernest Lee, citizenM’s managing director, says of their new Chicago hotel: “Chicago has always served as one the most important financial, entertainment, business, and cultural capitals in the world, but in the past few years has also become one of its largest tech hubs due to its incredible talent pool. As we continue our brand expansion and increase awareness in the U.S., it was important to us to have a presence in this market.”
CitizenM already has properties in New York, LA, Seattle, Boston, San Francisco, Washington and Miami.
