COO for Sydell Group moves to head honcho role at Proper Hospitality


Blake Danner has been announced as the new chief operating officer for Proper Hospitality as the group embarks on rapid growth.

He joins from his most recent role of COO at Sydell Group, where he helped create brands such as as NoMad, The Line and Freehand, overseeing 11 hotels in just seven years.

Danner boasts more than 25 years in hospitality and prior to his position with Sydell Group, he spent nearly a decade working for Ian Schrager as the Senior Vice President of Sales at Ian Schrager Hotels/Morgans Hotel Group.

Proper Hospitality, which designs brands and operates hotels and residences, has recently launched its new brand, Hotel June, with plans to roll out the concept across the country.

In the role of COO, Danner will oversee business strategy, organizational growth and development, and day-to-day operations within the Proper portfolio, which includes properties in San Francisco, Santa Monica, Austin, and later this year, Downtown Los Angeles.
