“The Otis Hotel and AC Hotel Austin-University will be the first of its kind in the campus district, redefining the neighborhood as an elevated destination for visitors to Austin,” said general manager Thomas Hoffmann. “Playing off our location adjacent to the University, The Otis will inspire curious travelers through unique academic-inspired design and programming.”

The Otis Hotel is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, and has a design that features subtle nods to academia, including a corkboard wall fixture, chalkboard blue features, and cerused oak paying homage to the 300-year-old Battle Oaks on the nearby UT campus.

Each of the rooms will feature special touches, including in-room record players for guests to play vinyl from the hotel’s music library.

In addition, the hotel will host a masterclass series on the rooftop with educational topics such as mixology, stargazing, local history, and more including an orientation, of sorts, for parents of students new to UT’s campus.

The Otis Hotel also boasts an on-site Vinyl Ambassador, who serves as a staff music professor offering personalized, curated musical experiences for guests.

The AC Hotel Austin-University is the lifestyle brand’s first property to open in Austin. The hotel features a restaurant and wine bar with a second-floor terrace overlooking West Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
