Pioneering boutique brand Firmdale has started construction on its third US hotel.
The group, which comprises eight hotels in London and two in New York, broke ground last week at 86 Warren, the site of a disused car park that is being transformed into The Warren Hotel.
It is thought the project will take two years.
The Warren Street Hotel will feature 70 bedrooms across 11 storeys, alongside a restaurant, drawing room, orangery, bar and private events space with Firmdale’s distinct interiors created by Kit Kemp.
The architect for the hotel is Paul Taylor of Stonehill Taylor, who also headed up the development of the brand’s other two New York hotels, The Whitby and Crosby Street Hotel.
Firmdale Hotels was founded in 1985 by Tim and Kit Kemp.
They opened the Crosby Street Hotel in 2010, and The Whitby in 2017.
In 2019, Firmdale had a record year for business, as turnover reached £162m.
