MCR acquires Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago

Hotel owner-operator group adds a Hyatt Regency property to its portfolio

MCR has announced the acquisition of Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago.

Situated in Rosemont, Illinois, the 11-story, 1,095-room hotel underwent a $13 million guestroom renovation in 2020.

The acquisition marks the fifth Illinois hotel for MCR, third-largest hotel owner-operator in the US.

The hotel is situated five minutes away from Chicago O’Hare International Airport, which serves 74 million passengers annually.

Among the hotel’s features is two full-service restaurants and a bar, along with a grab-and-go market.

Its dining options include the Red Bar & Lounge, the O’H American Grill, pastries outlet Perks-To-Go and an onsite Starbucks Coffee.

It also offers its guests 24-hour access to its on-site fitness centers and business centers.

The hotel is connected via skywalk to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, which has more than 840,000 square feet of exhibition space and hosts annual events including the International Gem and Jewelry Show and the Illinois Bridal and Wedding Expo.

Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago is also located within a mile of the Fashion Outlets of Chicago, home to more than 130 retails including Saks Off Fifth, Gucci and Nordstrom Rack.

MCR’s portfolio is now worth over $5 billion, with 150-premium branded hotels under the company.

This includes 9 Marriott brands, 8 Hilton brands, and numerous other independent hotels.

In total, the group operates over 25,000 guestrooms across 37 states and 107 cities.

Soon to be added to its portfolio are the Gramercy Park Hotel in New York City and the BT Tower in London.
