New CEO appointed for First Hospitality

First Hospitality has promoted David J. Duncan to the role of chief executive officer.

The hotel management company has appointed Duncan to oversee the day-to-day leadership of the business, promoting him from the position of president where he has been since June 2018.

First Hospitality founder, Stephen L. Schwartz, continues to have an active role steering the Board of Advisors as executive chairman.

Schwartz says: “As we enter the next phase of growth and continue to develop and operate high quality hotels and restaurants, our partners, associates, and clients can look forward to expert counsel with David’s leadership. He is a proven leader with significant experience in capital markets, real estate investment, and hospitality.”

Duncan’s previous experience includes time in senior leadership positions at Guggenheim Partners, LLC, Denihan Hospitality Group in New York, and JC Resorts in La Jolla, California.

In addition to growing First Hospitality significantly over the last two years, he has helped establish First Hospitality as a top employer and competitor in the real estate and hospitality industries.

First Hospitality is a hotel management, acquisition, development, and consulting company.

Founded in 1985, the company now operates properties across 19 brands throughout the US, totaling more than 7,000 rooms.
