HGU New York is displaying a selection of portraits from Marilyn Monroe’s last ever photoshoot, titled ‘The Red Party’.
The shoot was undertaken by Bert Stern over two sessions in the Bel Air Hotel, capturing Marilyn Monroe for Vogue for the first and only time.
During the sessions, only six weeks before Monroe’s death, the photographer compiled 2,571 shots, now known as ‘The Last Sitting’.
The exhibition is a collaboration between HGU New York, Keyes Art, Gallery 151 Annex and the Bert Stern Trust, while Lumaca at HGU is hosting ‘The Red Party’.
Lumaca at HGU is the hotel’s restaurant, which is offering a Marilyn-themed menu this month.
The Marilyn Monroe exhibition runs February 4 to April 13, 2020.
