Newport to see new luxury waterfront hotel open this spring

A new luxury boutique hotel is to open this spring on the waterfront in Newport.

The Brenton Hotel at 31 America’s Cup Avenue is gearing up to launch in a few months’ time, owned by locally-based investment company, LWH, LLC.

The 57-bedroom, five-storey hotel will be operated by White Horse Hospitality and is designed by architect Group One Partners in Boston, MA.

The 57 bedrooms will have floor-to-ceiling windows and ‘elegant design and décor’ with king-size beds that ‘float’ in the middle of the guest rooms.

The Brenton Hotel will be situated adjacent to the Newport Visitor Information Center and the Newport Marriott Hotel.

LWH is controlled by Farrar Equities, a Newport-based hospitality company which also owns the Mill Street Inn and White Horse Tavern, and Crosspoint Associates, which owns and manages various commercial properties throughout New England, including the Aquidneck Shopping Center in Middletown, RI.

The hotel is named in honor of the iconic Brenton Reef at the entrance to Narragansett Bay, near the site where the America’s Cup races were contested for 113 years.
