A new boutique hotel has opened in Outer Banks, North Carolina, breaking the mould for hospitality in the area.
Edgecamp Pamlico Station has launched on Hatteras Island, comprising 14 suites complete with living room, dining area, kitchen and bedroom, following a project spearheaded by owner Richard Fertig.
The design has been masterminded by Jonathan Adler, who was taken with the area’s natural beauty, and incorporated inspirational into his themes.
Features include laminated oak cabinetry, cream-colored boucle dining chairs and navy blue tiles in the kitchen; ochre and white striped tiled bathrooms with bright green circular mirrors; orange wood-burning hanging fireplaces and teal couches in the living area; and curvy bed frames with fluffy faux-fur rugs in the bedroom.
The hospitality market on Hatteras Island is made up of mostly midrange and budget inns, motels, and vacation rental homes with classic coastal decor.
Edgecamp Pamlico Station is breaking out of this mould. It has a concierge to assist with water sports rentals and lessons, dune buggy adventures, biking as well as a private chef to hire.
The property also features a wellness center equipped with saunas, cold plunges, and a hot tub.
Still to come in the next year will be the adjacent Edgecamp Sporting Club.
Edgecamp Pamlico Station is only the first of several Edgecamp properties planned for the future, including locations in the Hamptons; Nosara, Costa Rica; Palm Beach; and Palm Springs.
