Quirk Hotel Charlottesville has appointed two new hires for its leadership team as the boutique art hotel enters the final stages of development.
The hotel, which is slated to open in March 2020, has welcomed Matthew Brink and general manager and Whitney Dang as area director of sales & marketing ahead of the launch next month.
The ‘art boutique hotel’ will featured 80 bedrooms and over 11,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, a rustic restaurant and an in-house art gallery, featuring local, regional and national artists.
New general manager Brink joins with an extensive background within Hyatt portfolio, bringing 25 years of industry knowledge to the role. Most recently he was hotel manager at The Confidante Hotel.
“What separates Quirk Hotel Charlottesville from neighboring hotels is our celebration of individuality through our minimalistic contemporary design, extensive art collection and cultural experiences,” said Brink. “Upon opening our doors this year, we will continue to excite curiosity while inviting guests from around the region to experience a new level of charm.”
Dang joined the Quirk Hotel brand with over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry. She was previously the assistant director of sales and marketing at the Thompson Chicago hotel.
In her new position at Quirk, Dang will oversee the sales & marketing team, and develop multi-faceted strategies across both Quirk Hotel Charlottesville and Quirk Hotel Richmond, the first hotel opened by the Quirk Hotel brand in 2015.
Slated to open in March 2020, Quirk Hotel Charlottesville is being developed by Ted Ukrop along with Christian Kiniry and Ed Brown of Bank Street Advisors.
