Plan for $12m boutique hotel project in Connecticut approved

A new boutique hotel is to be built in Connecticut close to the Mystic River, after officials approved plans for the $12m project.

The proposal by Mystic Seaport Museum outlines plans to demolish its Latitude 41 restaurant and construct a three-storey building with a 160-cover dining room and 26 hotel bedrooms.

The hotel would be built by Greenwich Hospitality Group and be called the Delamar Hotel.

The principal of Greenwich Hospitality Group is Charles Mollory, who is a former member of the Seaport’s board of trustees.

Alongside the hotel and restaurant, there will also be a guest cottage and potentially a pool and outdoor patio.

The scheme will see demolition and construction begin in 2021 with an opening date scheduled for the spring 2022.
