Plans for $24m boutique hotel in Huntington, Long Island

A $24m investment into the long-disused Old Huntington Town Hall building will see it become a Hampton Inn & Suites boutique hotel.

In the original 1910 building will be situated the hotel’s lobby, gym and breakfast room.

Meanwhile, a 50,000 sq ft extension will house the 80 guest rooms of the Long Island hotel.

Suffolk County Industrial Development Agency approved the move made by founders George Tsunis and Rosario Cassata.

The construction project promises to bring as many as 100 temporary jobs to the area, while the hotel’s day-to-day running could see 14 permanent positions filled.

There are already a further six Hampton hotels on Long Island.
