A new boutique hotel in Ybor City, Tampa, Florida now has a name and opening date.

The Aparium Hotel Group’s $52m project was first announced back in May 2018, but only now does Hotel Haya have its official opening date of spring 2020.

Plans also reveal that the hotel will have nearly 180 rooms, as well as a 152-seat restaurant and 42-seat café.

A lounge and swimming pool will be situated in a secluded courtyard.

The name Haya references 19th-century Ybor legend Ignacio Haya. He built his first cigar factory there, and was known to be very charitable with the wealth it brought him.

Ybor City is famous for its eccentric nightlife. Over the years it has been home to drag shows, nightclubs, and gambling establishments.

“Hotel Haya offers a rare opportunity to reflect on the deep layers and stories of one of America’s most unique, historic neighborhoods and bring new life into its future evolution in a very meaningful and purposeful fashion,” said Kevin Robinson, Aparium co-owner.

Aparium, which runs nine US hotels, plans to open Haya and five more next year.
